Garden of the Gods
Lake Manitou
Milo, Kennedy, and Isabel "practiced" casting their poles for hours. Well, maybe minutes if you deducted the time spent untangling lines from feet, legs, and one another.
Casting away. All of the "real" fishermen got quite the kick out of the kids enthusiasm.
Mike showing off his wicked biking skills. This was moments before he totally biffed it on the flat wooden bridge. And fell into the swamp. And nearly made us wet ourselves laughing. No, seriously. He has mad skills.
Isabel and Milo living out the intro to the Andy Griffith show.
Milo put so much muscle into casting that he got his "lure" stuck in the pine tree above the trail. When we looked up to untangle it we realized that about 235 other fishermen had done the same thing. (As evidenced by their lures all tangled in the branches.)
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
Totally unique zoo experience. Giant kids' playground complete with giant flowers and oversized chairs.
Wallabies (or "koalabies" as Isabel called them) out for the pettin'.
Cute benches and sculptures all over the place. Nice "owl faces" right?
Campground Fun
Mike and Spencer took s'mores to a new level on this trip. S'mores with Caramello anyone? How about with chocolate chip cookies instead of graham crackers? How about with oatmeal creme pies instead of graham crackers? Lost ya there didn't I? I had you until the oatmeal pies.

Wow you did all this in 1 weekend? The zoo is so neat. I went when I was 7 months pregnant with Kiana. (keep in mind you walk up hill the whole time) Fishing with your kids looks like a lot of fun!
Ah man, I guess you should have written my posts cuz yours was way funnier. Ha ha. The picture of Kennedy in the porta-crib cracked me up, I look like I am making a run for it in the background (sadly there were times I did want to make a run for it). Just jokin, we had a great time and hope there are many more to come. Garden of the Gods looked pretty cool. Mike and I want to go back and do that and the waterfalls and oh the other millions of things there was to do there.
Just one more comment- the picture of Isabel tangled in her fishing line freakin cracked me up. For as much fun as the fishing poles were they sure added some drama; Milo's semi-retarded pole and it's inability to reel in, Kennedy losing the butterfly, Isabel getting tangled beyond belief, Isabel pegging me in the head with the fish as she practiced casting, Sophie "helping" isabel with her fish (chasing the dollar so to speak). Oh and do we have a tally for how many times we had camping chairs tip over and dump out a kid because they were seriously strugglin! So so so so so much fun!
Isn't that the best zoo ever!?!?! We went earlier this summer and we thought it was the coolest. The giraffes and bird room really were impressive. I think Brady almost liked it more than Crew. ~e~
Your kids are getting so big! I am glad to hear the other folks got their baby. :)
can i come live with you?
Mel--YES!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
looks like a great place to go camping- we'll have to keep it in mind! Glad you had tons of fun- as usual- you have such a great family!!!!
